Skills for Life

We’re Scouts and everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.

Welcome to North Yorkshire Scouts

North Yorkshire Scouts provides skills for life to over 8700 young people and adults in England’s largest county. Our diverse county spans major towns and cities such as York, Harrogate, and Scarborough, as well as rural communities in the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
