Evening Bellboating at Boroughbridge
This is open to Groups to book either 1 or 2 Bellboats for the evening.
If you do not require a helm(s) please click on the drop down menu to select boat only and send an email to waterbookings@nys.org.uk showing the booking date and the name of your helm.
Due to an issue with the booking system you can only book one Boat at a time, if you require two boats please make two bookings.
This evening gives Beavers, Cubs, Brownies, Scouts and Guides the opportunity to have a go at Bellboating. A Bellboat is a large stable catamaran type craft, approx. 9m long which offers an ideal introduction to paddlesport. Each boat takes upto 10 (8 for Explorers and Leaders) and is steered by an experienced helm.
Those members of the Scout movement who take part will have covered some of requirements of the various Challenge Awards. It may also qualify for Guiding awards.

All Activity Equipment will be provided
The aim of this event is to have an enjoyable time on the water, possibly for the first time. It is not the intention to get wet, however all participants should bring at least one set of clothing to get wet in (clothes made of synthetic materials or thermals are best) and a pair of old trainers to wear along with a set of waterproofs (jacket and trousers) to keep the wind off. Any person wearing jeans or wellingtons/croc style shoes to go on the water will not be allowed to undertake this activity.
Although this event is taking place in the summer months, we still get some cold evenings so a hot drink to finish off with is useful and don’t forget a towel!
