Can you build a tower from spaghetti? Scarborough Explorers take on the challenge

Date: 28th Sep 2026 Author: Lucy Horsman

Explorers at First Scarborough Scouts recently took part in a series of team building challenges, putting their communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test.

The evening included a range of activities, from untangling a human knot to building the tallest possible tower using spaghetti.

The Explorers also took part in a blindfold trail, where they had to work together to complete the challenge.

Each activity required the group to communicate and work together to find a solution. It also gave them the chance to put skills they have developed through their time in Scouts into practice.

Teamwork and problem-solving are just some of the skills young people can develop through taking part in Scouts, alongside having the opportunity to try new activities and meet other young people.
