North Yorkshire Scout takes on Great North Run challenge for Europe Trip 2027
Brompton & Catterick St Annes Scouts took on a big challenge in September as part of his fundraising for the North Yorkshire Scouts Europe Trip 2027.
Connor took part in the Junior Great North Run, putting himself through the challenge of running the course while dressed as a dinosaur.
“It was one of the hardest runs I’ve ever done,” Connor said after completing the run.
Running a distance event is a challenge in itself, but doing it in a dinosaur costume certainly added another level to it. Despite the extra challenge, Connor made it to the finish line and has now added another fundraising achievement to his journey towards the Europe Trip in 2027.
The Scouts and volunteers at Brompton & Catterick St Annes Scout Group were quick to congratulate him on his achievement, with the group sharing their support for his fundraising efforts.
The Europe Trip 2027 will give Scouts from across North Yorkshire the opportunity to travel, experience new places and take part in an international adventure. For young people like Connor, fundraising is an important part of making that opportunity possible.
Well done to Connor for taking on the Great North Run and pushing himself to the finish line. Even if running as a dinosaur did make it a little harder.
