Vacancy: County Welcome Conversation Lead
We are looking for a friendly and supportive volunteer to take on the role of County Welcome Conversation Lead.
About the role
In this role, you’ll coordinate and support Welcome Conversations for new County role holders, working closely with District Welcome Conversation Volunteers to ensure a consistent and positive experience for everyone.
You’ll take part in Welcome Conversations alongside the new volunteer’s Team Leader, helping to guide the discussion and offer reassurance from the outset. By sharing your own experience in a similar role, you’ll provide practical insight, answer questions, and help new volunteers understand what to expect, including the support and training available to them.
This early connection plays an important part in helping volunteers feel confident and welcomed, while also identifying any support they may need. As someone from outside their immediate team, you’ll bring an independent perspective, supporting safer recruitment and offering a chance to build a wider connection within Scouts.
Is this role right for you?
You don’t need to be an expert, just someone who enjoys meeting people and listening. This role could be a great fit if you:
- Want to help new volunteers get off to a positive start
- Are looking for something different alongside your current role
- Have experience in recruitment or people-focused roles (in or outside Scouts)
- Are keen to try something new and develop your own skills
