CubJam is open to North Yorkshire Cub Packs from 1-4 May 2026, at the Galtres Retreat Lodge Park, Pickering!

CubJam is a 4 day bank-holiday extravaganza, building on the long-running success of our County Cub Camps. Cubs will go on an adventure ‘Around the World’, all from the beautiful site just outside of Pickering. Our Cubs’ favourite CubMania Carnival will also be back to celebrate the Cubs 110th Birthday Party! 

For the first time this year, Groups can book a catering package, where our Event Catering Team will cook and serve all your meals. This will cost an additional £35 per person.

Event Volunteer Team

We have now opened Event Volunteer bookings for CubJam!

For CubJam, we are looking for volunteers to help support the full range of activities needed to keep the event running smoothly. This includes programme delivery, catering, site services, operations, welfare and safety. The form will ask you for your primary team choices, and also ask if you’re able to support the build days. Most of the time you’ll be working with your primary team but at critical times you may be needed to support other teams for a short period.

As we’ve done in the past, we are asking all event volunteers to pay the small fee of £25 which is the cost of catering for the full event. We want to make sure our young people get the best adventure at the lowest price so that it is accessible for all, which is why our County events have this volunteer fee. If you just want to help with the build and won’t be able to stay for the full event, then we do not charge event volunteers to attend the build only. Explorer Service Crew

We’re launching our very own Explorer Service Crew to help support CubJam too. Watch this space for more information coming soon!

Costs

  • CubJam will cost £60 per Cub and £10 per Group Volunteers and non-participating young people (ie Volunteer’s children). 
  • Groups can provide their own catering, or they can opt into our catering package. Our catering package will cost £35 per Cub/Group Volunteer or non-participating young person.
  • A deposit of £100 per Pack will be due within 21 days of your booking being received. Our friendly admin team will send you an invoice providing you with payment details and your unique booking reference.

We know that some Scouts Groups don’t charge their leaders for camps and events, but some do. For those that don’t, we recommend dividing the cost of the leader’s fee across your young people – we want you to make this decision locally, instead of us increasing the event fee. You may also wish to add a charge to your young people to cover your transportation costs.

The CubJam Bookings Timetable

  • 1 December 2025 – Bookings open for CubJam!
  • By Friday 20 February 2026 – We will need participant details for all Cubs, adults and non-participating young people in your Group
  • Early March 2026 – We will send out our event Handbook, with more details about this year’s CubJam
  • 1 May 2026 – CubJam begins!
