1st Castleberg Scout Group recently hosted a Women’s Wellbeing event in Settle last month, bringing people together for a relaxed and enjoyable evening focused on health, wellbeing and taking a bit of time for yourself.

More than 40 people attended, with guests welcomed on arrival with a glass of bubbly before settling in for a series of short talks from local health and wellbeing experts. The sessions were informal and easy to follow, offering pr

actical advice that people could take away and use in everyday life.

After the talks, the evening opened up into a more interactive space, with a range of stalls to explore. Attendees had the chance to chat with practitioners, learn more about different approaches to wellbeing and try out treatments such as reflexology. It gave people the opportunity to slow down, try something new and have conversations they might not usually have.

A raffle ran alongside the event, with prizes kindly donated by local businesses. It proved popular on the night and raised £417.30, which will go towards supporting future activities for the group.

One of the event organisers, Jane Nelson, shared:

“It was a fantastically well-attended Women’s Wellbeing event, and we are now looking forward to our Men’s event to focus on male wellbeing.”

The event was a great example of how scout groups can create something a bit different for their local area, offering a welcoming space for people to come together, learn something new and enjoy an evening out.

Thanks go to everyone who helped organise the event, as well as those who attended and supported it.
