Scout volunteers are amazing – from brew making to expedition planning, numbers crunching to raft making, we know you go the extra mile to give young people incredible experiences!

As part of our annual Celebration of Volunteer Achievement event, we want to celebrate your Unsung Heroes – exceptional volunteers that you think deserve a shout out! Who comes to mind for you? Do you know someone who knows just how to turn a rainy day at camp around? Someone who makes balancing those books look easy peasy? How about someone who inspires you? We want to know! Nominate your Unsung Hero here. Nominations open on Friday 7th August at 7PM and will close Saturday 31st October 2026.

Who can I nominate? 

Any Scouts volunteer with a role within North Yorkshire! 

Can I nominate more than one person?

Yes you can nominate multiple volunteers. Please use a new form for each nomination. 

Can I come to the Celebration of Volunteer Achievement Event? 

If your nominee is selected and numbers allow, nominators will be invited to attend the event. You will be contacted directly ahead of the event if this is the case. 

How do you choose who receives an Unsung Hero award? 

Our Awards Team reviews each nomination carefully, and considers if the nominee has already been celebrated within recent years.
