Lead Our Climbing Adventures: Climbing Coordinator Needed!
Do you have a passion for roped sports and a knack for organisation? We’re looking for a Climbing Coordinator to join our North Yorkshire Scouts Programme Team.
This rewarding volunteer role is all about making amazing climbing opportunities happen for our young people. You’ll be the person who organises training and assessment days, helping our brilliant adult volunteers gain the permits they need to lead climbing activities.
You’ll get to use your organisational skills to bring these events to life, working closely with our Land Programme Team to share your love of indoor and outdoor climbing. This is a fantastic chance to make a real difference, helping to create memorable adventures for thousands of young people across the county.
You don’t need to be a climbing expert or hold a specific qualification—we’ll support you with what you need. What’s most important is your enthusiasm and ability to coordinate people and events.
You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team that meets monthly (mostly online, but occasionally in person in Thirsk).
Inspire the Next Generation of Archers and Shooters: Target Sports Coordinator
Imagine helping hundreds of young people discover the thrill of archery and shooting. We’re looking for a Target Sports Coordinator to join our team and help us make that happen!
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your passion and organisational skills to support our adult volunteers. You’ll be the one who organises the assessment days, helping them gain the permits they need to safely deliver exciting target sports sessions.
Your work will directly enable countless Scouts to try new activities, build confidence, and learn valuable skills. If you’re a great organiser with a real passion for target sports, this is the perfect volunteer role for you. We’ll support you every step of the way, so no prior qualifications are needed—just your dedication!

Help Us Reach New Heights: Mountain Activity Coordinator
Are you a lover of the great outdoors who wants to inspire others? We’re seeking a Mountain Activity Coordinator to help us empower our adult volunteers to lead incredible hillwalking adventures.
This is a fulfilling volunteer role where you’ll be the driving force behind our mountain activity permits. You’ll use your organisational skills to set up training and assessment days, helping our leaders gain the permits they need to take young people on unforgettable hillwalking expeditions.
Your efforts will directly lead to young people exploring breathtaking landscapes, building resilience, and fostering a deep love for the natural world. If you’re organised and enthusiastic, this is a brilliant way to give back to the Scout community. While a specific qualification is a bonus, it’s not essential. We’ll give you all the support you need!
You’ll be joining a friendly, monthly meeting (mostly online, but occasionally in Thirsk) with the rest of the Land Programme Team.
Get Our Scouts Moving: Cycling Coordinator Wanted!
Do you believe in the power of a great bike ride? We’re looking for a Cycling Coordinator to help us get more young people on two wheels!
This exciting volunteer position is all about making it easier for our leaders to deliver amazing cycling activities. You’ll be using your organisational skills to set up the permit assessment days that our adult volunteers need to lead cycling adventures for their sections.
By helping to create these opportunities, you’ll be directly contributing to the health, confidence, and sheer joy of thousands of young people across North Yorkshire. If you’re organised and passionate about cycling, we want to hear from you. You don’t need a specific cycling qualification to get started—just a desire to help and a talent for organisation.
You’ll be part of the Land Programme Team, a supportive group that meets once a month (mostly online, but occasionally in Thirsk).
