Hawks Explorer Scouts Water Adventure!

Date: 1st Jul 2024 Author: Lucy Horsman

Hawks Explorer Scouts on the evening of June the 20th had a fantastic time with their canoeing water activities!

Canoeing and kayaking are low impact activities that can improve your aerobic fitness, strength and flexibility. Specific health benefits include: Improved cardiovascular fitness. Increased muscle strength, particularly in the back, arms, shoulders and chest, from moving the paddle.
Nick Jones, the group Scout leader said:

“Hawks Explorers have done two meetings on the water recently, and it’s the amazing activities like this that they will remember.

We’re so fortunate, at 42nd St Marks, to have the facilities and leadership team to allow our young people to take to the water in kayaks and canoes. They love it!

For me, this is the epitome of Scouting and adventure.”

Well done from all of us here at team North Yorkshire Scouts! If you’re interesting in taking part in these fun activities, simply search for our group finder on the homepage of this website.
