Scarecrow Festival Brompton & Catterick St Annes

Date: 24th Jun 2024 Author: Lucy Horsman

The residents of Catterick Village united with Brompton & Catterick St Annes Scouting group for a remarkable first scarecrow festival. This ‘Big Help Out’ event, held over the weekend, was a resounding success, bringing joy to our local community and showcasing the benefits of scouting for both young people and volunteers.

The event, held on 8th and 9th June, featured 17 stunning and imaginative scarecrows , forming a trail that wound its way through the village. The overwhelming community support for this event was heartwarming, and the smiles on people’s faces as they strolled along the trail were a testament to the success of the event.

The group is always searching to expand their volunteer teams. Should anyone wish to find out more about scouting opportunities either as a young person or a volunteer, they can get in touch via their social media: https://www.facebook.com/BromptonCatterickStAnne or contact: 1stbosbeavers@gmail.com or 1stbromptononswalegsl@gmail.com

Tara Roulston said: “Our aim was to make people smile and spread some positivity throughout our local community. The event has had so much support from local residents (of all ages), with so many people enjoying the creative displays along the trail. We would like to say a huge thankyou to our local community in Catterick Village for their continued support in all that we do! We hope to bring you a bigger and even better scarecrow festival next year, so watch this space!”
