Watson Scout Centre ’makeover’ completed

Now even MORE disabled friendly!

With the help of lots of Trusts, Foundations, Firms, Individuals, and our own Scout Funds, we have managed to replace the second hand wooden building at the rear of the Centre and now have this modern construction (shown above) which provides ‘disabled friendly’ sleeping accomodation for 8 people together with a shower room/toilet facility and together with a new Activity Room, which will make a difference to all our 6,000+ young members spread throughout North Yorkshire.

The Centre’s Management Committee, the Centre’s Fundraising Group, and the whole of North Yorkshire Scouts Leadership Team would like to THANK all the people who donated anything, be it time or money, towards making this Project ‘viable’ and to allow it to come to ‘fruition’ as it now has.

If you want to know more about North Yorkshire Scout’s Watson Scout Centre and how to book it, please visit at their website at watsonscoutcentre.org.uk

Well done to ALL concerned in making it possible!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
